Chennai · Velachery & OMR
Designer for Velachery & OMR teams
The IT corridor runs on a different clock to the rest of the city. Sprint deadlines, product launches, funding decks due Friday. Work here is about fitting into a build cycle rather than a festival calendar.

Fitting into how you already work
Most friction between a product team and a freelance designer is process, not craft. These are the arrangements that stop it.
-
In your tools
Slack, Jira, Linear, Figma comments — wherever your team already is. I do not ask you to move to my process.
-
Sprint-sized pieces
Work broken into what fits a two-week cycle, so design lands before the sprint it belongs to rather than after.
-
Hourly when it suits
For teams that need a designer on tap rather than a fixed project. Logged honestly, invoiced monthly.
Questions from OMR teams
Can you work hourly rather than per project?
Yes, ₹1,200 an hour, logged honestly and invoiced monthly. It suits teams who need design available across a quarter rather than one large deliverable, and you can stop any month.
Will you come to the office?
Weekly if the project needs it — Velachery, Perungudi, Taramani and Sholinganallur are all a normal trip. Most collaboration happens in Figma and Slack, so on-site is for kickoffs and reviews rather than routine.
Our developers say designs are never buildable. Can you fix that?
That usually means missing states, inconsistent spacing, or a design assuming behaviour the platform does not have. An audit finds which, and the handover I do includes a call with your engineers before anyone writes code.
We have a design system already. Will you use it?
Yes, and it makes things faster. Send the Figma library. Where the system has gaps I will flag them rather than quietly inventing one-off components nobody can reuse.
Do you sign NDAs and work with procurement?
Both, routinely. NDA before any material moves, and invoices with PO references matched to your finance cycle. Some of this work never appears in my portfolio, which is expected.

Need a designer inside the sprint?
Tell me the flows and the deadline. I'll say what can be designed properly in the time you have.
