Logo design cost in Chennai
Quotes in this city run from ₹1,500 to well over ₹1,00,000 for what sounds like the same job. The gap is almost never about talent. Here is what actually sits behind each number.
Short answer
₹8,000 – ₹22,000
What most small and mid-sized Chennai businesses pay a freelancer for a logo they can use everywhere.
What each price band gets you
Including the bands I don't offer, so you can see where my rates sit.
Six things that move the price
-
Number of applications
A mark alone is one job. A mark plus stationery, signage, packaging and social templates is four more.
-
Bilingual lockups
A Tamil version isn't a translation — it's a second piece of lettering drawn to match the first.
-
Custom lettering
Setting an existing typeface well is quick. Drawing letterforms from scratch takes days and costs accordingly.
-
Number of decision-makers
One owner approving is fast. A committee of five means more rounds, and rounds are the real cost in design.
-
Deadline
Anything that pushes other work down the queue carries a 25% surcharge. A comfortable date costs nothing extra.
-
Guidelines document
A one-page usage sheet is included above ₹14,000. A full brand book is a separate piece of work.

Cost questions
Why is ₹1,500 for a logo a bad deal?
At that price the mark is almost always a stock icon set in a common typeface, sold to other businesses too. You usually get a PNG and no vector, which means it cannot be cut in vinyl or embroidered without being redrawn — a cost you pay later.
Is a more expensive logo actually better?
Not automatically. Above roughly ₹25,000 you are mostly paying for scope and process — more applications, more stakeholders, research and documentation — not for a better-drawn mark. Decide which of those you actually need.
What is included in your ₹8,000 package?
Three original concepts, two revision rounds, and the full file pack: AI and SVG vectors, PNG with transparency, JPG, favicon, plus black, white and single-colour versions. Delivered in five working days.
Do I pay extra for the source files?
No. Editable source files transfer to you on final payment, always. If anyone quotes you a separate charge to release working files, treat that as a warning.
Can I pay in instalments?
Fifty per cent books the slot and the balance is due on delivery of final files. For identity systems above ₹22,000 I split it into three payments across the project.
What does a redesign cost compared with a new logo?
Usually the same or slightly less, because part of the direction already exists. It is rarely cheaper by much — the work is in deciding what to keep, and that takes judgement rather than time.
