Website design cost in Chennai
The build price is the part everyone quotes. The yearly running cost is the part that surprises people twelve months later. Both are on this page.
Short answer
₹9,000 – ₹45,000
To build. Plus roughly ₹5,000 a year to keep it online.

The yearly running cost
These are paid to third parties, in your own name, not to me. Budget for them from year one — a site that lapses because a renewal was missed costs far more to recover.
Typical total for a small business site: ₹4,000 – ₹8,000 a year.
Six things that move the price
-
Page count
The obvious one, and the least important. Five well-built pages beat fifteen thin ones.
-
Who writes the content
The single biggest cause of both delays and extra cost. If you supply text and photos, the price holds.
-
Product count
Fifty products is a catalogue. Five hundred with variants is a data project before it is a design one.
-
Integrations
Payment gateway, courier API, CRM or booking system — each one adds setup and testing time.
-
Custom design vs template
A tuned template is faster and cheaper. A design drawn from scratch costs more and looks like nobody else.
-
Languages
A Tamil version is a second set of pages to build, test and maintain, not a toggle.
Cost questions
How much does a website cost in Chennai?
₹9,000 for a well-built single page, ₹20,000 for a five-page business site, and ₹45,000 upwards for ecommerce. Add roughly ₹4,000 to ₹8,000 a year for domain and hosting, paid to third parties in your own name.
Why do some quotes say ₹3,000?
That is a bought template with your text pasted in. It will exist, but it will usually be slow on mobile, have no proper page structure, and bring no search traffic. If the site is only there so you have a link to share, it is honest value. If you want enquiries, it is not.
Is WordPress cheaper than a custom build?
Usually yes, and for most small businesses it is also the better choice — your team can update it without a developer. Custom builds make sense when you need something WordPress genuinely cannot do.
What is not included in the build price?
Domain, hosting, paid plugins if you need any, stock photography, and content writing. I tell you the likely total for these before you commit, so nothing appears later.
Do you charge a monthly maintenance fee?
No mandatory fee. The first year of small fixes is included. After that you can pay hourly when something needs doing, or take a maintenance retainer if you would rather not think about it.
Can I pay in stages?
Fifty per cent books the slot and the balance is due at handover. For ecommerce projects above ₹45,000 I split it across three payments tied to milestones.
